A trio of CAA Football standouts have been placed on the Preseason Watch List for the 2022 Walter Payton Award, which is presented by Stats Perform to the national Offensive Player of the Year in the Football Championship Subdivision.

Monmouth senior running back Juwon Farri, Richmond graduate student wide receiver Jakob Herres and Richmond graduate student quarterback Reece Udinski are among 35 players to make the list.

More players will be added as the season progresses, and a national media panel will select the winner in January.

Farri rushed for 705 yards and eight touchdowns last season despite missing three games due to injury. A three-time member of the All-Big South first team, he has piled up 2,249 yards and 26 touchdowns on the ground in his Hawks' career.

Herres, a graduate transfer from VMI, has tallied 226 receptions for 3,006 yards and 26 touchdowns in his career, which leads all active FCS wide receivers heading into the 2022 season.

He caught 47 passes for 500 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2021 despite being limited to eight games due to injury.

Udinski, a graduate transfer from VMI and Maryland, threw for a VMI-record 7.877 career passing yards and 48 touchdowns over his four seasons.

He set a Keydets' single-season record with 3,276 passing yards in 2019. Udinski saw limited action in four games last season at Maryland.
